BIG NEWS: The RNC meeting of February 26th is temporarily cancelled--with a potential revisit next week on March 2nd or so...See the website: http://www.MutuAlburQaid.Lovarchy.org for more info. =================================================================== NOTES from Mutual Aid Conference: First there was a Food Not Bombs (FNB) meeting. The core-values of FNB were announced (Vegetarianism, Nonviolence, Consensus Decision-Making {plus free food in PUBLIC spaces and the mystery of BAGELS} ). xxxx showed a mini-powerpoint thing about FNB. A new meal sharing was drummed up into this: Saturdays @ Coronado Park (4th & I-40) around 1:00pm xxxx will pickup the raw food Saturdays @ 8am from Sunflower & the P&J (with xxxx's assistance). The cook-house will be xxxx's house. xxxx will begin getting food bags (prepared by David) from the Trinity Nuclear Abolitionists cook-house on Thursdays at 7pm (after the weekly vegetarian potlucks) so he can give them to children on Fridays @ school. - - - - - - - After the FNB meeting the 5-6 hour was about mutual aid in general. Our ideas: Truly Free Market, a Health Care Collective with Health Classes (for illness prevention too), Free School Classes, Mobility Services for homebound Elders, more goods & services free of monetary exchanging, a White's Anti-Racist support group, La Montanita RADICAL REFORM for Cooperative Members, and a Mutual Aid Calendar. The Saturday Flea Market and growers markets seem like great places to get more stuff happenin' like a Free TableStuff @ FNB meals... We need a directory of doctors who'll give free treatments, including specialists for people who are restricted by medicaid. The national Organizers Alliance has an office in town (see Roberto). Topahkal has cheap medical care with NO insurance accepted. For the above items, let it be known that: 1 > xxxx wants to participate in general labor bartering and more free bagels, some music and yoga classes too, 2 > xxxx wants to help with more mutual aid stuff (the Table?), 3 > xxxx wants to help with more co-op reform, 4 > xxxx wants to help with more mutual aid stuff (the Table?), 5 > xxxx wants to trade massage lessons for piano lessons - - - - - - - Then we had dinner. Afterwards we talked about the War Tax Boycott and the Albuquerque War Tax Alternative Fund, and we had some announcements: March 8th is the Land, Water, Culture Conference in Espanola, NM @ the Northern NM College (see LasAcequias.org for info) March 29th is the P&J's annual membership meeting (25 years old this year!)
